Babylon Village Arts Council Art by the Falls Featured Artist Susan Gromatsky
The Artist Currently Known As Q
“The Artist Currently Known as Q” obtained her pseudonym from the nickname “Susie Q.” She has a wonderful significant other and four amazing, grown children.
When not painting, she creates other, useful art: hand painted seashell soap dishes; hand crocheted ponchos, shawls, and afghans; and beaded jewelry.
“Q” grew up in the Philadelphia area and moved to Long Island over 35 years ago. She has lived in Dix Hills and Huntington, and now resides in Amityville.
Her father still paints, and serves as a huge inspiration. He taught her to use oils at a very young age; after dabbling in airbrush, pen and ink, and colored pencil, she has also picked up acrylics after missing the feeling of holding a brush. There is always some new tool or medium to try...
