Babylon Village Arts Council Art by the Falls Featured Artist Tracy Tekverk
TRACY TEKVERK is a lifelong Kings Park resident who got her start in watercolor only two years ago. In that time, she has found a unique balance of realism and explosive color choices that bring an element of peaceful otherworldliness to her work. Drawing much inspiration from nature, you will often find yourself staring across a field or into the eyes of an animal when confronting one of Tracy’s paintings. Her intuition for painting natural scenes can perhaps trace its roots to her Native American ancestors, who directly inspired her painting, Chalayna, the artist’s favorite personal piece to date.
If you appreciate Tracy’s paintings, keep an eye out for her name in all corners of the art world! She expresses herself through many different mediums, having studied fine art and commercial photography at the Rochester Institute of Technology, she has also taken up sculpture, and now runs an artisanal soap company, Cedar and Bennet, from her home.
Babylon Village Arts Council is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.
